In addition to rosewood, oriental craftsmen have long used other kinds of wood and materials to make their products. Ebony is even heavier, denser and harder than rosewood, and it tends to have a slightly more pronounced grain pattern. Chestnut is also a good hardwood. Detailed workmanship is evident in all of these pieces.
